Everything In Life That We Accept Undergoes Change

Blessing and accepting our current circumstances can be a POWERFUL tool. In truth, this particular combination is like a spiritual elixir that can work miracles in our lives if we only taste of it.
Acceptance is simply surrendering to what actually is: our surroundings, our circumstances, our health, financial status, work and our relationships with other people.  It is even surrendering to the delay of our dreams.  You see, have come to learn that before I can change ANYTHING in my life, I have to recognize that this is the way it is meant to be right now.
For me, personally, acceptance has become my long sigh of the soul.  It is my closed eyes in prayer and yes, even the silent tears.  It’s the all right, as in “all right, you lead, I will follow”. Or the  it’s all right of “everything is going to turn out all right.”   It is all simply a part of the journey.
Through these last VERY turbulent years not only for myself but for our country, I have discovered that much of my struggle to be content despite outside circumstances has arisen when I stubbornly resisted what was actually happening in my life at the present moment. But I have also learned that when I surrender to the reality of a particular situation, when I do not continue to resist, but accept, a softening in my soul occurs.  Suddenly, I am able to open up to receive all the goodness and abundance available to me because acceptance brings with it so much relief and release.  It’s as if the steam of struggle has been allowed to escape from life’s pressure cooker.
So, what actually happens when we stop fighting and just accept our circumstances? Well, first, we relax.  Next we change our vibration, our energy pattern, and the rate of our heartbeat. Once again we are able to tap into the boundless positive energy of the Universe. Reality also becomes illuminated so that we are better able to see the next step.
So, dear reader, whatever situation exists in your life right now, accept it. Embrace it.  Writer/teacher Natalie Goldberg (Writing Down the Bones), believes that  “Our task is to say a holy yes to the real things of our life as they exist.”  So, cast a look around and acknowledge what’s going on right now.
·         This is my tiny kitchen with the dirty floor
·         This is how much I weigh
·         This is my checking account balance
·         This is where I work right now
·         This is what is happening in my life right now and it is okay.
This is all okay and it is real life.
So, today, let go of the struggle.  Allow the healing process of change to begin.
Are you ready to join me?  Great!
 Then let’s move on.
